Dimitrios Kalyvas ( Greek Δημήτριος Καλυβάς , born December 11, 1973 in Montreal , Québec , Canada ) is a former Canadian - Greek ice hockey player who was last under contract with Iptameni Pagodromi Athens in the Greek ice hockey league until 2013 . His brother Georgios was also a Greek international.

Career

Dimitrios Kalyvas, who was born in Montreal to Greek immigrants, began his career as a hockey player in his native Canada. From 2007 to 2013 he played for the Greek record champions Iptameni Pagodromi Athens in the Greek ice hockey league . With the club he won the Greek championship title in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013. After winning the fourth title, he ended his active career at the age of almost 40.

International

In the junior division, Kylyvas only played at the Junior C World Championship in 1991 .

With the men's national team , Kalyvas first took part in the C2 world championships in 1995 and the D world championships in 1998 and 1999 . After switching to the current division system he played in 2008 , when he top scorer together with the Turks Emrah Özmen was and scorer of the tournament, in 2009 , in 2010 , when he best assist provider and together with the Irish Mark Morrison was top scorer of the tournament in 2012 and 2013 in Division III, although in 2008 and 2013 he had to contest a qualification tournament with the Hellenes and in 2013, as the best template provider of the qualification tournament, made a significant contribution to the qualification for the World Cup.
