Mark Morrison (born July 10, 1982 in Belfast , Northern Ireland , United Kingdom ) is a former Northern Irish ice hockey player who last played for the second team of the Belfast Giants in the Scottish National League until 2014 , having previously played for their first team for many years in of the Elite Ice Hockey League was on the ice. Internationally he played for the Irish national ice hockey team . His brother David was also an Irish national ice hockey player.

Career

Mark Morrison played his entire career for the Belfast Giants from his hometown in the Elite Ice Hockey League . In 2006 and 2012 he and his team won the main round of the league and thus the British championship . In 2009 he won both the Challenge Cup and the Knockout Cup with the Giants and in 2010 the playoffs of the EIHL. From 2013 he was used in the second team of the Giants, which competed in the Scottish National League .

International

The British citizen Morrison played for Ireland in the world championships of Division II in 2008 and 2011 and Division III in 2007 , when, as the best striker and most valuable player of the tournament, he was one of the guarantors of the Irish's first promotion to Division II, 2009 and 2010 , when he was chosen as the top scorer (together with the Greek Dimitrios Kalyvas ) and top scorer (together with the Greek Georgios Kalyvas ) as the best striker of the tournament and thus significantly contributed to the renewed promotion of the Irish to Division II. He was named the best Irish player at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 World Championships.
