Björn Sebastian Starke Hedlund (born April 5, 1995 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player who is used as a central defender . He currently plays for Kalmar FF in the top Swedish division, the Fotbollsallsvenskan .
Club career
Beginnings in Sweden
Starke Hedlund started playing football in 2000 at Älvsjö AIK , a football club from the south of Stockholm. He stayed there for a total of nine years. In 2009 he moved to IF Brommapojkarna . There he was also used in defensive midfield . In 2011 he celebrated the Swedish championship with the U-16s. During this time he was often in trial training at FC Schalke 04 .
FC Schalke 04
For the 2012/13 season Starke Hedlund was in the squad of the U-19 of FC Schalke 04. There he became a top performer in central defense and made 25 games, with three assists. In the end, the team became champions of the West season and won the Westphalia Cup for the U-19s. In the championship finals, he only came to one game because he saw the red card in the first leg against VfL Wolfsburg and was suspended for the second leg. The team was eliminated in the 1st round. The following season the team competed in the UEFA Youth League . There Starke Hedlund completed nine games; he scored a goal. The team only failed in the semi-finals against eventual title winners FC Barcelona . In 24 games in the West season, he was able to score five goals and prepare three more goals. In the end, he and his team won again the double from the West Season Championship and the Westphalia Cup. In the final round they were eliminated again in the first round, this time against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . In the DFB junior club cup final they lost to SC Freiburg on penalties.
For the 2014/15 season, Starke Hedlund was in the squad of the second team in the West Regional Football League . With only eight missions, he did not get beyond the role of the supplementary player.
GAIS Gothenburg
In the summer of 2015 he signed a contract with GAIS Göteborg that was valid until the end of the year . With the club he entered the Superettan , the second highest Swedish league in football. He made his professional debut on July 18, 2015 in the game against AFC United . In the 2-0 away win, Starke Hedlund played the entire game in central defense. He then became a regular player and was always on the starting line-up in the following games. After 15 games in the league and one game in the Svenska Cupen , he left Gothenburg and moved to the first division club Kalmar FF .
Kalmar FF
Starke Hedlund has been playing for Kalmar FF in Fotbollsallsvenskan since January 2016 . In his first season he made 13 appearances in the professional team, plus two appearances in the U21. Thanks to strong performances in his first season, he was able to fight his way back into the squad of the U-21 national team and was called up for the Olympic squad that represented Sweden in Brazil in 2016.
National team
Strong Hedlund already played for the U-17 , U-18 , U-19 and U-21 of Sweden. For the U-21 European Football Championship 2015 in the Czech Republic , he was deleted from the squad shortly before the start of the tournament. Starke Hedlund was part of the Swedish squad at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil , but was never used.
