Sedlec ( German Sadl ) is a West Bohemian village and part of the municipality Poběžovice in Okres Domažlice .

Sedlec is located about four kilometers northeast of Poběžovice.
history
The name Sedlec and Sadl derived from it onomatopoeia is of Slavic origin and means settlement. Sedlec was first mentioned in writing in 1396.
The Lords of Lobkowitz from Bischofteinitz owned 3 farms in Sadl in 1587. In 1656 Sadl (also: Satl, Sattel) had 4 farmers, 9 Chalupners, 18 teams, 18 cows, 31 young cattle, 33 sheep and 58 pigs.
In 1789 Sadl had 25 houses, in 1839 41 houses and 277 inhabitants. In 1887 there was a conflagration in Sadl, in which half the village burned down.
In 1913 Sadl had 44 houses and 216 inhabitants and in 1939 49 houses and 191 inhabitants.
Sadl was parish in Sirb and had his own elementary school since 1925.
After the Munich Agreement , Sadl was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Bischofteinitz district .
