history

Haslangkreit Castle

The Catholic parish Sankt Johannes Baptist in Großhausen belongs to the deanery Aichach-Friedberg in the diocese of Augsburg. The parish also includes the villages of Radersdorf, Oedmühle and Sedlhof.
The Catholic Curate Beneficiary Haslangkreit, Paar and the Abtismühle belong to the parish of Sankt Magnus in Kühbach.

For almost 500 years the Haslangkreit court and Haslangkreit Castle belonged to the barons and, from 1745, the Counts of Haslang . Haslangkreit, popularly simply called Kreit , got its name from them to distinguish it from other places with -kreuth or -kreit .

Until July 1, 1972, Haslangkreit and its districts belonged as an independent municipality to the Upper Bavarian district of Aichach and then came to the newly founded Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On January 1, 1978 it was incorporated into the Kühbach market.
