The Seekofel ( Ladin Sas dla Porta , Italian Croda del Becco ) is a 2810 m high mountain at the head of the Braies Valley . It is included in the Braies Dolomites and is located on the border between South Tyrol and the province of Belluno in Italy . The South Tyrolean shares are in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park .
The peak is in a partially secured Bergtour, the slip resistance and vertigo requires from Braies ( 1494 m slm ) over the furnace-lip ( Porta Sora al forn , 2388 m slm to reach). The Seekofelhütte ( Rifugio Biella , 2327 m slm ) is just a few minutes' walk south of the saddle .
The Ladin name of the mountain Sas dla Porta or Torberg goes back to the legend that a gate on this mountain once led from the Pragser Wildsee into the underground parts of the Fanes kingdom .
For the first ascent, Viktor Wolf von Glanvell (Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell) is traded.
