The Sefinenfurgge (also Sefinafurgga ) is a 2612 m high Swiss mountain crossing in the Bernese Alps . It forms the connection from the Kiental to the Sefinental , a side valley of the Lauterbrunnen valley .
location
The Sefinenfurgge forms a cut between the massifs of Bütlasse and Gspaltenhorn in the south and the massifs of Hundshorn , Wild Andrist and Zahm Andrist in the north. It lies on the border between the Bernese Pre-Alps (in the north) and the actual Bernese Alps (in the south) as well as on the border between the two municipalities of Reichenbach (in the west) and Lauterbrunnen (in the east). The top of the pass consists of a striking rock gate.
Hiking routes
The path over the Sefinenfurgge is part of the Hinteren Gasse , which crosses the Bernese Oberland, and the Via Alpina , a long-distance hiking trail through the entire Alpine arc. Starting points for a tour are the Griesalp or the Gspaltenhornhütte on the Kientaler side or Mürren or Gimmelwald on the Lauterbrunn side.
