Segismundo Martínez Álvarez SDB (born February 23, 1943 in Acebes del Páramo , Spain ) is a Spanish religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Corumbá .

Life

Segismundo Martínez Álvarez entered the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and received on 2 July 1972, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 7 December 2004 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Corumba . The Archbishop of Cuiabá , Mílton Antônio dos Santos SDB, donated him episcopal ordination on January 30, 2005 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Jardim , Bruno Pedron SDB, and the Bishop of Cruz Alta , Friedrich Heimler SDB. The inauguration took place on March 19 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on December 19, 2018.
