Friedrich Heimler

Friedrich Heimler SDB - in Brazil also Frederico , in Germany called Fritz (born February 17, 1942 in Unterlammerthal , Amberg-Sulzbach district , Upper Palatinate ; † November 7, 2018 in Campo Grande , Mato Grosso do Sul , Brazil ) was a German Roman- Catholic religious , missionary and bishop of Cruz Alta .

Life

After his novitiate , he made his first profession on August 15, 1960 . After studying philosophy and theology , he was ordained a priest on July 12, 1970 .

On December 9, 1998, he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Umarama by Pope John Paul II . The Archbishop of Campo Grande , Vitório Pavanello SDB, donated him episcopal consecration on January 31, 1999 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Guarapuava , Giovanni Zerbini SDB, and the Bishop of Corumbá , José Alves da Costa DC .

On May 8, 2002, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Cruz Alta . Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on June 11, 2014.
