Selbekken is a village in the Norwegian municipality of Orkland , in the province ( Fylke ) Trøndelag . The place has 400 inhabitants (as of 2019).

geography

Selbekken is located on the coast of the Trondheimfjord in Hamnabukta Bay. Lensvik borders directly to the north . Riksvei 710 runs through the village and connects to Orkanger and European route 39 (E39) and thus to Trondheim .

Selbekken is a so-called Tettsted , i.e. a settlement that is counted as one area for statistical purposes. The place was the administrative center of the former municipality of Agdenes , which was transferred to the newly created municipality of Orkland on January 1, 2020 as part of the state- wide municipal reform . Already on January 1, 2018 the affiliation of the place changed from the then province Sør-Trøndelag to the newly created Fylke Trøndelag.
