Semapa - Sociedade de Investimento e Gestão (German: Investment- & Management-Gesellschaft) is a Portuguese conglomerate and holding company with investments in the cement , paper and pulp sectors and is also active in environmental services.
The Company owns 75.43% of the Portucel Soporcel , Europe's largest producer of bleached eucalyptus - pulp - kraft paper (BEKP). It also holds 51% in Secil Group ( Secil - Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento, SA ), a manufacturer of cement and its derivatives, as well as owning 100% in ETSA ( Empresa Transformadora de Subprodutos Animais SA ), a company for waste management concepts , involved in the collection, storage and treatment of animal by-products.
The company is listed on the Lisbon Euronext and is part of the PSI 20 index.
