Localization of Baden-Württemberg in Germany

The transmitter Blaubeuren (Schillerstein) is a filler transmitter of the Südwestrundfunks (formerly the Süddeutscher Rundfunk ) for radio. It is located on the Schillerstein , about 1.5 kilometers south of the Blaubeurer city center, west of the Gerhausen suburb . A 51 meter high, free-standing tubular steel mast is used as the antenna carrier.

From here the town of Blaubeuren and the nearby valleys are supplied with the SWR radio programs. With a transmission power of 2 watts, the Blaubeuren station is the weakest performing radio station in the Federal Republic of Germany. In Blaubeuren itself, the SWR programs can be received via the Ulm-Kuhberg transmitter .

Until the introduction of DVB-T , the television programs Das Erste (transmission power 0.5 W), ZDF (20 W) and SWR Fernsehen (20 W) were broadcast terrestrially by this station.
