Sergei Dmitrijewitsch Barbaschow ( Russian Сергей Дмитриевич Барбашёв ; born July 26, 1992 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the SKA-Neva Saint Petersburg in the Vysschaja Hockey League since 2019 .

Career

Sergei Barbaschow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HK CSKA Moscow , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Perwaja Liga in the 2008/09 season . In the 2010/11 season , the defender made his debut for the professional team of HK CSKA Moscow in the Continental Hockey League . In his rookie year , he remained pointless and punished in three games. In parallel to the game with CSKA in the KHL, he played from 2009 for its junior team Krasnaja Armija in the multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga and won the Kharlamov Cup , the championship title of the MHL , in the 2010/11 season with the team .

During the Expansion Draft on June 17, 2013, Barbashov was selected by Admiral Vladivostok . There he played until 2015, but was also used at Molot-Prikamje Perm in the second-rate Vysschaja Hockey League .

In the fall of 2015, he completed the Chicago Wolves training camp , but did not receive a contract.

Between May 2017 and 2019, Barbaschow was under contract at HK Sibir Novosibirsk , but from December 2018 he was only employed at Metallurg Novokuznetsk . Since the 2019/20 season he has been playing for SKA-Neva Saint Petersburg from the Vysschaya Hockey League.

International

For Russia , Barbaschow took part in the 2010 U18 Junior World Championship . During the tournament he scored two goals and six assists in seven games. During the tournament he served as assistant captain and was voted one of the top three players on his team.
