Sergei Witaljewitsch Tschernezki ( Russian Сергей Витальевич Чернецкий , English Sergey Chernetskiy ; born April 9, 1990 in Sertolowo , Leningrad Oblast , RSFSR , USSR ) is a Russian cyclist .

Chernetsky initially concentrated on track cycling . He was with the Russian team in 2010 and 2011 U23 European champion in the team pursuit and in 2011 won the silver medal in the single pursuit .

In 2012 for Chernetsky on the road UCI Continental Team Itera-Katusha , the farm team of the UCI ProTeam Katusha . As a member of the Russian national team, he won one stage each at the Ronde de l'Isard d'Ariège and the Giro della Valle d'Aosta , and came second overall. He also finished fourth of the UCI Nations' Cup U23 Competition Tour de l'Avenir .

For the 2013 season he moved to ProTeam Katusha, for which he won the overall ranking of the Tour of the Fjord . In 2015 he won the 6th stage of the Tour of Catalonia in a sprint of a top group of 12 and thus his first race of the UCI WorldTour . For the 2017 season he joined the Astana Pro Team and was able to win the overall ranking of the Arctic Race of Norway , a stage race hors categorie .
