Sérgio Cláudio dos Santos (born June 27, 1971 in Nilópolis ), called Serginho , is a former Brazilian football player . His nickname was Il Concorde because of his speed and tirelessness.
Serginho started his career in Brazil in 1994 at EC Bahia , where he won his first championship , Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte . In 1996 he moved to São Paulo FC .
In 1999 the transfer to the Italian Serie A to AC Milan took place for 8.9 million euros . At Milan he was mostly a supplementary player, but was still used regularly. He experienced the high point of his Milan career with the 6-0 victory over Inter Milan in May 2001, where he prepared three goals and scored one himself. With AC Milan he won the 2003 Champions League final , where he converted a penalty in the decisive penalty shoot-out . In the penalty shoot-out in the 2004/05 Champions League final against Liverpool , his shot went wide. In 2008 the Brazilian announced the end of his career, visibly moved, he made his last game for Milan against Udinese Calcio on May 18, 2008 .
Serginho made his debut for Brazil against Serbia-Montenegro in September 1998 . With the Brazilian national team, he won the Copa America in 1999 and also played at the Confederations Cup , where they lost 3: 4 to Mexico in the final. Serginho was not called up for the Brazilian team for the 2002 World Cup , although he was used in the qualifying games for the World Cup.
