Serhij Mychailowytsch Tschernenko ( Ukrainian Сергій Михайлович Черненко ; born February 16, 1984 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has been under contract with CSM Dunărea Galați in the Romanian ice hockey league since November 2017 .

Career

Serhij Tschernenko began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Kiev . For his men's team he ran from 2000 to 2002 in the East European Hockey League , in the 2001/02 season he was also on the ice in the Ukrainian ice hockey league . He then moved to Sweden for a year, where he played for Kramfors-Alliansen in third-class Division 1 and for Lugnviks IF in fourth-class Division 2 .

In the summer of 2003, Chernenko returned to Ukraine, where he signed with the record champions HK Sokil Kiev . He stayed with the Falcons for ten years and was able to celebrate the title hat-trick as Ukrainian champion twice from 2004 to 2006 and from 2008 to 2010 . In 2007 he won the Ukrainian Cup with the club . At times he played with Sokil in the Belarusian extra league and the Russian Wysschaja league . In 2013 he then moved to local rivals HK Kompanjon-Naftohas Kiev , with whom he also won the Ukrainian title in 2014. He then moved to CSM Dunărea Galați in the Romanian Ice Hockey League and was able to win the national championship there in 2015 and 2016 . In 2016 he returned to the Ukraine and joined HK Krywbass , which he left again during the season to end the season with HK Generals Kiev . In 2017 he moved to the CS Progym Gheorgheni again in Romania, but then went back to the CSM Dunărea Galați in November of that year.

International

Chernenko first came to the U18 World Championships in the top division in 2001 and 2002 for his home country. With the U20 team of Ukraine he played at the World Championships in Division I in 2002 and 2003 and in the top division in 2004 .

For the senior national team of Ukraine , the striker played for the first time at the World Cup of Division I in 2011 . He made another appearance in 2012 in the first qualifying round for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
