Setouchi ( Japanese 瀬 戸 内 市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Okayama .

Setouchi is east of Okayama on the Seto Inland Sea .

history

The city of Setouchi was founded on November 1, 2004 from the union of the communities Oku ( 邑 久 町 , -chō ), Osafune ( 長 船 町 , -chō ) and Ushimado ( 牛 窓 町 , -chō ) of the district of Oku . The district was then dissolved.
