Ibara ( Japanese 井 原 市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Okayama .

Ibara is east of Fukuyama and west of Okayama . The city of Ibara was founded on March 30, 1953 .

The city is connected to the national roads 313, 486 and by rail to the Ibara Ibara line .

There has been a twinning with Tongyeong since 1981 and one with Jiujiang since 1996 .
