Sexau community award for theology
The Sexau community prize for theology was initiated in 1980 by the Sexau parish priest Rudolf Landau and has been awarded since 1981 by the Protestant parish in Sexau (near Freiburg im Breisgau ).
The award honors academically teaching theologians who distinguish themselves in their work and publishing by being particularly close to the congregation, i.e. who take up and process questions of relevance to the congregations or in an understandable way.
The prize is awarded at irregular intervals, with the award taking place during Advent. The parish council decides on the award at the suggestion of the theological discussion group of the parish. The festive lectures and sermons of the honored and their respective Advent sermons are printed as Sexau community price booklet .
