Shannon Elizabeth Woeller (born January 31, 1990 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian soccer player .
Career
society
Woeller started her career with the Prince of Wales Walesman, the athletic team of the Prince of Wales Secondary School in Vancouver , while she also played in the Academy of the Vancouver Whitecaps Women . This was followed by studies in the USA at Rutgers University , where she also played for the local university team of the Rutgers Scarlett Knights from 2010 to 2013 and also played in the W-League for the Vancouver Whitecaps Women and Seattle Sounders Women .
In spring 2014 she left North America and moved to Norway to Grand Bodø IK . Woeller played there in 14 games before moving to Iceland for UMF Stjarnan in spring 2015 . After a season in Iceland, Woeller signed after more than a year without a club on January 26, 2017 in the women's Bundesliga with FF USV Jena , where she replaced compatriot Rachel Melhado . On July 15, 2018, the Swedish Damallsvenskan club signed Eskilstuna United , Woeller until the end of 2019. After the end of the 2019 season in October, she left Sweden and returned to Canada without a club. After half a year without a club, Woeller signed for the Spanish club Valencia CF Femenino on July 31, 2020 .
National team
From 2005, Woeller passed through the Canadian junior national teams in the U-15 and U-20 age groups. She took part in the Cyprus Cup in 2009 , where she made her international A debut against the Netherlands on March 7, 2009. Woeller ran from 2009 to 2012 in, 16 senior international matches for the Canadian women's national soccer team . After five years of abstinence, Woeller returned to the national team for the friendly match against the German women's national soccer team in Erfurt on April 9, 2017. In the game against Germany, Woeller was substituted on in the 88th minute, and after 4 years and 320 days, returned to the national team to complete their 17 international matches. At the Algarve Cup 2019 she was part of the squad, but was not used. It was not taken into account for the 2019 World Cup .
Personal
Woeller is the maternal great-granddaughter of the Canadian ice hockey player Beattie Ramsay and on the paternal side the archdeacon David Woeller.
