Shattered Realm is an American metalcore and hardcore punk band from Asbury Park , New Jersey that was formed in 2000, split up in 2009 and reunited in 2011.
history
The band was founded in 2000 by guitarist Joe None. Other members were singer Eric, guitarist Chris Collins and drummer Danny in the band. In September the band started their first gigs. A short time later, singer Eric switched to bass and guitarist Collins took the singer's post. A few gigs later, drummer Danny left the group and was replaced by Al, while Ales joined the band as the second guitarist. In the same year the album Alone with Everybody was released . In April 2001, drummer Al left the band for a short time and was replaced by Gene from Second to None . The EP All Will Suffer then followed through War Machine Records in the same year before Al returned to the band in August. After a few appearances, the album Broken Ties followed ... Spoken Lies via Eulogy Recordings and Alveran Records . This was followed by other gigs and tours, with Fat Pat joining the band as the second guitarist in early 2002, replacing Alex. In 2003 the band took part in Hellfest . Towards the end of the summer, the band split from singer Big Chris and drummer Al. On the European tour that took place in September 2003 , Chris Rage joined the band as the new drummer as the new singer Paul Brown. In early 2004 US tours followed with Remembering Never and On Broken Wings , as well as with Terror , Born from Pain and The Promise . In February, Rage sustained serious ankle and leg injuries while attempting stage diving in Memphis . During the summer, the band played appearances in the US with On Broken Wings, The Judas Cradle , Black My Heart and The Warriors . At this time, singer Brown left the band for personal reasons, whereupon Joe Hardcore joined the line-up as the new singer in 2005. In July the band held a US tour with Ramallah , Death Before Dishonor and Suffocate Faster , which lasted until mid-August. The album From the Dead End Blocks Where Life Means Nothing followed in November . The band then consisted of guitarists Joe None and Danny Cahill, singer Joe Hardcore, bassist Jason Bailey and drummer Chris Rage. The release was followed by tours of Europe and the USA. In 2006 Nick Sarro joined the band as a bassist. In June of the same year, singer Big Chris returned to the cast for a performance in Asbury Park. However, since this concert was extremely chaotic, Joe Hardcore came back to the band as a singer. Since the Hellfest was canceled in the summer of 2005, Joe Hardcore organized his own festival in Philadelphia , from which they should develop the This Is Hardcore Fest. After a few more appearances, the band broke up in 2009. The band has been active again since 2011, with singer Big Chris again as a singer in the band.
style
The band plays hardcore punk with metallic influences, with guitar riffs reminiscent of Slayer and Hatebreed . Shouting is used as a singing technique.
