content

Brett Starr resigns from his position as sheriff of Dodge City to accompany his sister-in-law and her two nephews to Tombstone . There he wants to meet his brother Bill. Attorney Judge Gabby Whittaker joins you.

On the way, the group takes a break at a stagecoach station. There they meet the famous gunslinger Shotgun Cassidy, who says he wants to become a sheriff in Tombstone. After losing a round of poker, Cassidy attacks Judge, but is shot by him and remains injured.

Arriving in Tombstone, Brett and Judge notice how four bullies ransack Mary Carson's women's fashion store and amuse themselves with the clothes. Brett and Judge force the rioters to put on the stolen clothes and finally to pay. Because of his shotgun, Brett is mistaken for Cassidy by the citizens and appointed sheriff by Mayor Keeler. Keeler and his accomplices Slade and Martinez plan to bid for the Carsons' silver mine. They cannot pay their taxes, so the mine should be auctioned. Cassidy should make sure that the price stays as low as possible.

During a visit to the Carsons, Brett not only meets Mary again, he also learns that the reason for the insolvency is the constant stagecoach robberies. As a result, the family does not get any money to pay wages and taxes. At the local Wells Fargo office, Brett investigates how this unnatural increase in robberies can occur. The boss John Anderson, however, is quite uncooperative. After Brett leaves the office, it becomes clear why, Anderson and Martinez are the same person. Anderson uses the disguise as a Mexican to warn Slade and Keeler about the sheriff's investigations. The three develop the plan to have the next silver transport guarded by Cassidy and to eliminate it during the attack. Brett, still in his role as Cassidy, discovers the gangsters on the basis of a reflection in time and lets the carriage turn. Despite immediate pursuit by Martinez / Anderson's men, Brett manages to get back to town. In town, Brett confronts Keeler and Slate in the saloon. At the same time, the real shotgun Cassidy comes to Tombstone and learns about his doppelganger. There is a shooting, with Brett and Judge having to flee.

Meanwhile, Brett's brother Bill has called a meeting with the other mine owners and workers. Brett explains that everyone should pay some of the taxes for the Carsons. Wells Fargo boss Anderson, who is also present, would ensure the safe transport of the silver bars. When Anderson agrees and leaves, Brett and Judge pursue him and discover how he disguises himself as Mexican Martinez to tell Keeler of the plan. When the bandits attacked the transport, they were amazed to discover that instead of silver bars, armed men were being transported on the wagon. The attack is thus repelled. Cassidy is shot, Keeler, Slate and Anderson are arrested.
