Takenokoshi Shigemaru ( Japanese 竹 腰 重 丸 ; born February 15, 1906 in Kitaamabe County , Ōita Prefecture ; † October 6, 1980 ) was a Japanese football player and coach.
National team
In 1925, Takenokoshi made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team . Takenokoshi made five international appearances and scored one goal. With the Japanese national team, he qualified for the Far Eastern Championship Games in 1925 , 1927 and 1930 .
At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne , Takenokoshi acted as coach of the Japanese selection, which failed in the second round with 0-2 to Australia. A few days later he was used as a referee in the game between the Soviet Union and Indonesia (0-0).
