Gekkan Shōnen Ace ( Japanese 月刊 少年 エ ー ス , Gekkan Shōnen Ēsu ) is a Japanese manga magazine .
The magazine is published every month on the 26th by Kadokawa Shoten Publishing at a price of 590 yen . The main part of the almost 1000-page magazine is made up of various chapters of manga series and manga short stories.
The magazine was founded in 1994 and initially had only moderate success. When the publication of the manga of the same name for the popular anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion began in Shōnen Ace in the mid-1990s , sales rose sharply. Due to the success of Neon Genesis Evangelion , other manga series based on anime followed.
In 2005 , the Shōnen Ace was one of the few manga magazines that had a higher circulation number than the previous year. In 2009 the circulation per issue was 83,334.
