The Shotol (also Shatul ) is a right tributary of the Punjir in eastern Afghanistan .

The Shotol is a mountain river in the extreme southwest of the province of Panjshir Province . It rises in the glaciated mountains of the Hindu Kush on the provincial border with Parwan and Baglan . The river flows mainly in a southerly direction through the mountains. The Shotol district, named after the river, stretches across the remote and inaccessible river valley . In its final kilometers, the river reaches Parwan province . It turns to the east and shortly afterwards flows into the Punjjir on the right at Golbahar . The Shotol is 45 km long. It drains an area of ​​205 km². The mean discharge at the mouth is 3.89 m³ / s.
