SIBYLLE is the title of a German mystery - thriller .
It was created in the winter of 2013 in cooperation with the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) and in cooperation with Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR); The film was shot in Germany and Italy . Directed by Michael Krummenacher .
The film was shown at numerous international festivals and in selected German cinemas; it has been released on DVD and was broadcast on BR television in late 2016.

After a stressful time in her architecture office, Sibylle finds it difficult to come to rest during their joint Lake Garda holiday with husband Jan and their sons David and Luca. While her family is still sleeping, Sibylle takes long walks over the cliffs by the lake. A woman of the same age she meets every day barely notices her - until one morning she witnesses her suicide .
Back in Munich , Sibylle tries in vain to suppress the event. Again and again strange parallels seem to point to a connection between her own fate and the fate of the woman. An increasing alienation from her family as well as nightmarish visions that break into her everyday life troubles her. If she suspects burnout , Sibylle is ordered to take a strict professional break . Largely isolated, she tries to regain control of her life and to reconnect with her family, but soon finds out that they are now almost hostile to her.

The film premiered in February 2015 at the Berlinale 2015 . This was followed by various film festivals and festivals at which “SIBYLLE” was also able to win prizes. At the end of 2016, the film celebrated its television premiere on BR. On February 4, 2016, the film started in German cinemas with the help of the film distributor eksystent distribution . The film was released on DVD on January 30, 2017.
background
Director Michael Krummenacher began his studies in directing for cinema and television film at the HFF Munich in 2006. In 2009 he founded Passanten Filmproduktion together with Peter Baranowski and made his first feature film in the same year. “SIBYLLE” is his graduation film. The executive producer, Gwendolin Stolz, is also his life partner.
Parts of the film were shot in Krummenacher's adopted home of Munich, other parts in Italy near Lake Garda. The stunt show seen in the film really exists and is performed in the Movieland Park Lake Garda. However, since filming took place when the park was closed in November, the stands were occupied with the help of extras and the scene was played especially for the film.
