Siddhanth Thingalaya (born March 1, 1991 ) is an Indian hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career

Siddhanth Thingalaya gained his first international experience in 2010 when he won the silver medal over the junior hurdles at the Junior Asian Championships in Hanoi in 13.96 s and thus qualified for the Junior World Championships in Moncton , in which he was 14.09 s in the first round retired. In early October he took part in the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi , but failed there with 14.06 s in the run-up and then he could not finish his first run at the Asian Games in Guangzhou . In 2013 he finished fourth at the Asian Championships in Pune in 13.89 s and the following year he again took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , where he was eliminated again with 13.93 s in the first round. Then he reached the final at the Asian Games in Incheon , in which he came in sixth place with 13.73 s. In 2015 he was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Wuhan with 14.10 seconds in the preliminary round.

In 2017 he improved the Indian record in Mesa to 13.48 s and then finished fifth in 13.72 s at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar . He also took part in the World Championships in London for the first time, but failed there with 13.64 s in the lead . The following year he started over 60 m hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , but failed there with 7.93 s in the preliminary round.

In 2015 and 2019 Thingalaya became Indian champion in the 110-meter hurdles.
