Widukind

The Type 67 is a container feeder vessel type of Sietas in Neuenfelde .

history

The Henrietta , formerly Frauke , in 2013

The Type 67 was ordered by various shipping companies and built in 13 units between 1970 and 1972. Initially, the ships were mainly used on European container delivery services, where they soon became a standard type of ship, as well as in timber shipping. The ships of the series were later found worldwide in coastal travel through resales.

technology

The individual, largely box-shaped cargo hold with a grain volume of 4,648 m³ has a hatch size of 51.00 meters by 10.20 meters and is equipped for the transport of containers and the transport of dangerous goods containers. The standard equipment with Cellguides was dispensed with. Due to the shape of the hold, this type of ship can also be used for cellulose or wood parcel shipping. In addition, the tank roof is reinforced for stowing heavy goods . Hydraulically operated folding hatch covers reinforced with heavy cargo were used. Several ships, such as the Estebogen or the last two Scol units built, received slewing cranes and / or movable slewing cranes from the manufacturers NMF and Hägglunds .

The ice-reinforced hulls of the ships were joined together in a sectional construction. The Type 67 is powered by four-stroke diesel engines from various manufacturers, which on some ships have a reversing gear on a fixed propeller, but on the majority of ships they act on a variable pitch propeller . Some of the ships have a bow thruster to support the docking and casting off maneuvers. The largely identical Type 69 was developed from the basis of the Type 67 .
