The Simca 1300/1500 and 1301/1501 series were passenger cars of the motor vehicle manufacturer Simca , which were manufactured between spring 1963 and spring 1976.

development

In March 1963 the Simca 1300 and Simca 1500 were presented to the public as the successor to the Simca Aronde . The Kombi 1500 Break was delivered from spring 1964 . The 1500 GL automatic was presented in the summer of 1964 . In 1966, the 1300 series also received disc brakes in series, which the 1500 series already had.

In October 1966 there was a facelift, the models were now called 1301 and 1501. They were lengthened by 7 cm at the front and 13.5 cm at the back. The trunk was now larger, the bonnet pulled forward and the radiator grille changed, and there were flat, rectangular instead of round tail lights. Inside, the vehicles received a different instrument panel. The towering, round central instrument that Simca had taken over from the Aronde models gave way to a rectangular display unit with a tape speedometer, now surrounded by imitation wood, in keeping with the taste of the time. The heating and ventilation system has also been improved. Simca offered the 1301/1501 series in the equipment variants Luxe Super, Grand Luxe and Grand Luxe Super, plus the combination versions Break LS and GLS. In the spring of 1969, all models received radial tires as standard equipment.

Facelift

At the beginning of 1970 the 1301/1501 Special and the 1301/1501 Break were presented. All models in the series received a new dashboard with three or four round instruments, a new grille and the Chrysler monogram. The Chrysler 160, Chrysler 160 GT and Chrysler 180 were introduced at the Paris Salon in October 1970 as the successor to the Simca 1501.

From mid-1971, the 1501 was built for export and only the 1301/1301 Break remained in the program. On August 31, 1971 Simca became "Chrysler France".

In early 1972, the 1301 and 1301 Break received the grille of the 1501. A year later, the models were equipped with a new gearbox and new brakes. As early as spring 1974, the 1501 and 1501 Break were available again due to poor sales of the Chrysler 160/180.

In autumn 1975 Chrysler presented the Chrysler-Simca 1307 and 1308 at the Paris Salon. Production of 1301 and 1501 ended in spring 1976.
