Simon Narcisse Bozanga
Simon Narcisse Bozanga (born December 26, 1942 in Bangassou , † July 7, 2010 ) was Prime Minister of the Central African Republic in 1981 .
Political career
Bozanga spent part of his school days in Rouen and studied law in Nancy and Paris . He later worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic and represented his country from 1978 to 1979 as Ambassador to Gabon . He was then Minister of Justice from 1980 to 1981.
After his confirmation in the presidential elections in March 1981, President David Dacko, who had been in power since a coup on September 26, 1979, appointed him Prime Minister on April 4, 1981 as successor to Jean-Pierre Lebouder . He had belonged to the previous government as Minister of Justice. Like his predecessor, he belonged to Dacko's Union Démocratique Centrafricaine (UDC) party founded in March 1980 . During his brief tenure, the government faced strikes and civil unrest. A state of emergency was declared on July 26th. His term of office ended on September 1, 1981, when Dacko was overthrown in a coup led by André Kolingba . The post of prime minister was not filled again until March 1991.
He has been a member of the Supreme Court since the 1990s, first as president of a chamber of the court and later as an advisor.
