Faustin Archange Touadéra (born April 21, 1957 in Bangui ) is an independent politician from the Central African Republic . He was head of government from January 2008 to January 2013 and has been president of his country since March 30, 2016.

Before starting his political career, Touadéra was a university professor in Bangui. He studied in Cameroon and France mathematics . In 2004 he was appointed Vice Chancellor of Bangui University.

He emerged victorious from the presidential election on February 14, 2016 and was sworn in as the new president on March 30 of the same year.

In April 2018, Touadéra appointed Boris Becker a Central African diplomat, whereupon Becker claimed he was under diplomatic immunity. Foreign Secretary Charles Armel Doubane , whose signature would have been necessary, retrospectively declared this appointment invalid.
