Simon Ybertracher

Simon Ybertracher (born October 9, 1694 in Naturns ; † August 30, 1772 in Meran ) was a Tyrolean baroque painter who created altarpieces, paintings and frescoes, mainly in Vinschgau and the surrounding area.

Life

Simon Ybertracher was born in Naturns, the son of a blacksmith. Nothing is known about his training. The oldest of his works are frescoes in the Hochnaturn residence from 1720. From 1743 there are sacred works by him.
