Simon von Düren (* around 1400 , probably in Düren ; † August 28, 1470 in Worms ) was a Carmelite and from 1457 to 1470 auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Worms and titular bishop of Mayo .

He came from Düren, entered the Carmelite order, was a baccalaureus of theology and appears from 1439 to 1444 as prior of the Carmelite convent in Aachen .

After that Simon had Düren the same office in the Carmelite convent in Cologne and was Penitentiary of the Archbishop of Cologne Dietrich II. Of Moers . In 1457 he was appointed by the Worms shepherd Reinhard von Sickingen to his auxiliary bishop, Pope Calixt III. appointed the religious priest Titular Bishop of Mayo, Ireland, on August 12th of that year . In this capacity he worked until his death in 1470. He was buried in the Carmelite Church in Worms at the entrance to the choir.

Simon von Düren is sometimes mentioned as auxiliary bishop in Münster , which, according to the historian Wilhelm Kohl (1913-2014), was a false statement without any evidence.
