Simone Lang (born May 10, 1971 in Erlabrunn ) is a German politician and member of the Saxon State Parliament ( SPD ).

Profession and volunteering

Simone Lang closed the school in 1987 with the intermediate certificate , and then graduated in Aue vocational educational programs for health and nurse . From 1990 she worked as a nurse in the Saxon State Hospital for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Bad Reiboldsgrün , from 1997 to 1998 in a doctor's practice and then from 1998 to 2003 at the University Hospital in Regensburg . From 2004 to 2005 she worked as a practical instructor in a vocational school and from 2006 to 2014 she worked as a coordinator in the hospice in Erlabrunn for the expansion of palliative care in the Erzgebirge district . In 2010 she completed the additional training to become an integrative grief therapist in Freiberg .

Lang is an honorary member of the board of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), where he has been chairman of the AWO Erzgebirge since 2018, as well as a board member and second chairman of the state association for hospice and palliative medicine in Saxony and an honorary member and board member of the WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal . Since 2018 she has also been Vice President of the Saxon State Association for Health Promotion e. V.

Political party

In 2010, Lang became a member of the SPD and was initially a member of the local association Western Ore Mountains . In 2011 she became an assessor, and in 2014 she became chairwoman of the SPD district association of the Erzgebirge. Since March 21, 2015, she has also been chairwoman of the Social Democrats Health Working Group in Saxony and since 2019 chairwoman of the state party council of the SPD Saxony .

Political election office

In the state elections in Saxony in 2014 , she ran in the constituency of Erzgebirge 3 and received 10.9% of the votes cast. She entered the state parliament via the state list (17th place) of her party. She was a member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture, the Budget and Finance Committee and the Enquete Commission "Ensuring the supply and further development of quality in the care of older people in the Free State of Saxony".

In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , she narrowly missed entry into the Saxon state parliament both in her constituency with 8.7% of the first votes, as well as in 11th place on the SPD state list. After Petra Köpping waived her mandate, Lang moved up to the state parliament in January 2020, where she took over the management of the petitions committee and is a member of the committee for social affairs and social cohesion.
