Streng drives for the SV Piller ski club and has been a member of the ÖSV team since 2003 . She contested her first FIS race in December 2002, the first podium place followed in December 2003 with second place in a giant slalom. The rest of the 2003/2004 season she had to pause due to an injury. In February 2005 she won her first and only FIS race, a slalom. Shortly before that, she started in the European Cup for the first time and was already ninth in her third race. At the Junior World Championship in Bardonecchia in 2005 , she was fifth in the Super-G, ninth in the slalom and 22nd in the giant slalom. At the Austrian championships she won the bronze medal in slalom and became junior champion in super-G. In the following 2005/2006 season, she was only able to contest two races due to injury.
Streng competed in the World Cup for the first time on December 21, 2006 and immediately scored her first points in the Val-d'Isère slalom with 21st place. In the European Cup she reached her first podium in January 2007 in the slalom in Melchsee-Frutt as third. She celebrated her greatest success in March 2007 at the Junior World Championships in Flachau when she won the bronze medal in slalom. At the end of the season she was second in slalom at the Austrian championships .
On December 9, 2008, she achieved her best World Cup placement with 15th place in the Aspen slalom . This was followed by World Cup points for the second time in the season with 24th place in the slalom in Špindlerův Mlýn . On January 24th, 2008 she won her first and only European Cup race, the super combination of St. Moritz ahead of Lara Gut . At the end of the season she finished third in the super combination ranking in the European Cup and thus secured a fixed starting place in this discipline for the coming World Cup winter.
The 2008/2009 season did not go as planned for Streng and so she was only able to achieve World Cup points once in seven races, in January 2009 she was 26th in the slalom in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the following season 2009/2010, she did not make it into the top 30 in five World Cup races. At the end of the season she fell in the downhill at the Austrian championships and injured the cruciate ligament on her right knee. In the spring, Streng lost her membership in the ÖSV squad and in September 2010 she finally announced her retirement from ski racing.
