Sinivie Boltic
Sinivie Boltic (born July 2, 1982 ) is a Nigerian wrestler . He won the 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2011 the African Championships, each in free style in light heavyweight .
Career
Sinivie Boltic started wrestling in 1996. He concentrates on the free style. He is a member of the Nigeria Sports Club Bayelsa State in Yenagoa , southern Nigeria. He is 1.80 meters tall and grew over the course of his career from welterweight to middleweight to light heavyweight.
In 1999 he took part in the All-African Games in Johannesburg for the first time and took 3rd place in the welterweight division behind Ian Du Toit from South Africa and Ibrahim Ahmed Salama from Egypt . In 2000 he finished 2nd behind Ian Du Toit at the African Championships. Sinivie Boltic also won a medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester . He came there in the middleweight division behind Nicholas Ugoalah from Canada and Anuj Kumar from India in 3rd place.
More Medals he also won at the All-African Games 2003 in Abuja / Nigeria, where he took 2nd place in the light heavyweight division after Saleh Moustapha Emara from Egypt in 2007, where he in the All-African Games in Algiers , again in light heavyweight, behind Saleh Moustapha Emara and Farid Djaout from Algeria came in 3rd place.
In 2004, Sinivie Boltic tried to qualify at the qualifying tournaments in Bratislava and Sofia for participation in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , but did not succeed with a 15th place and a 22nd place.
After the All African Games in 2007, he resigned from international competition. But when the former Canadian wrestling world champion Daniel Igali from Nigeria , Nigerian national coach, became the freestyle wrestler in 2009 , he made a comeback. The first successes under the training of Daniel Igali were already evident in 2010. He took part in a world championship that took place in Moscow for the first time this year and came there in the light heavyweight division after a victory over Wu Yunbilige, China and a defeat against Ruslan Sheikov from Belarus in 15th place. At the Commonwealth Games taking place in Delhi in October 2010 , he achieved his greatest international success to date, as he won the light heavyweight division there in front of Korey Jarvis from Canada and Leon Rattigan from England .
In 2011 Sinivie Boltic won his second title in an international championship at the African Championships in Dakar . He won there ahead of Ahmed Sewelam from Egypt, Rochdi Rahimi from Tunisia and Etienne van Huyssteen, South Africa. He then managed a big surprise at the 2011 World Cup in Istanbul , where he fought his way in the light heavyweight division with victories over Juan Esteban Martines Ibaguen, Colombia , Etienne van Huyssteen and Kurban Kurbanow from Uzbekistan , with defeats against Reza Yazdani , Iran and Ruslan Sheikov excellent 5th place, which earned him the right to start the 2012 Olympic Games in London . He is the only African wrestler who has so far qualified for these Olympic Games in free style.
