Siositina Hakeai gained her first international experience at the Junior World Championships in Moncton , Canada , where she did not get a valid throw in the final. In 2011 she took part in the World Youth Championships near Lille , where she was seventh in the shot put with a width of 13.73 m and was eliminated from the qualification with the discus with 45.76 m. The following year she was fourth at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with a throw on 56.17 m. In 2014 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow for the first time, where she also finished fourth with 58.67 m. In 2015 she won the Oceania Championships in Cairns with a width of 56.06 m and qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated with 54.89 m in the qualification . In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she again took fourth place with a width of 57.16 m.
From 2012 to 2016, as well as 2018 and 2019, Hakeai was New Zealand champion in discus throwing and in 2012 also in the shot put.
