Sita Monica Mazumder

Sita Monica Mazumder (born March 30, 1970 ; resident in Zurich , formerly in Turgi ) is a Swiss IT economist and entrepreneur . She deals with sustainably successful business models in the digital world and researches the interfaces between artificial intelligence and economy / society . Further focal points of her entrepreneurial and scientific work are innovation management and white-collar crime .

Life

Sita Mazumder has Indian, French and Swiss roots. After attending the Baden Cantonal School from 1986 to 1990, she studied computer science engineering at the ETH Zurich from 1990 to 1995 . She then studied economics at the University of Zurich until 1999 . At the same time, she worked as a project manager in the IT organization and rollout department at SBG (now UBS ) in Zurich and founded her first consulting company. This was followed by her academic work at the Swiss Banking Institute of the University of Zurich, where she wrote her dissertation on "The diligence of Swiss banks in the light of preventing and combating corruption" and, summa cum laude, was awarded a Dr. oec. publ. received his doctorate. In 2002, Sita Mazumder received the annual research award from the University of Zurich for her dissertation. From 2000 to 2005 she was also a lecturer at the University of Zurich. Sita Mazumder completed her PostDoc in 2002 at the renowned Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University .

After working in the area of ​​banking supervision at the Swiss Federal Banking Commission (now FINMA ), Sita Mazumder switched to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences as a full-time lecturer in 2006 . As a professor for business and IT, she now conducts research at the interface between artificial intelligence and business and society and develops successful business models in the digital age. She has also been a lecturer at EXPERT Suisse since 2004 and a visiting professor at the Luxembourg School of Business since 2017. Sita Mazumder has been the owner of her second consulting company PURPLE Consult since 2005 . She is also a member of several administrative and supervisory boards , a member of the Federal Electricity Commission and publishes regularly. In 2011 she was an invited participant of the honorable International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the US State Department, on the initiative of Hillary Rodham Clinton .
