Ryback Allen Reeves (born November 10, 1981 in Las Vegas , Nevada ) is an American wrestler . He is currently performing at various wrestling promotions in the so-called indie area. Reeves recently changed his real name from Ryan Allen Reeves to Ryback Allen Reeves.

Career

Beginning

Reeves took in 2004 at the 4th season of WWE Tough Enough part and was one of eight finalists who did not win season but. Nevertheless, World Wrestling Entertainment offered him a development contract and he began training at Deep South Wrestling in 2005, where he played his first match in September, on their comeback show, and appeared until February 2006.

From March 2006 Reeves appeared for Ohio Valley Wrestling , another development league of the WWE. He could be seen there until January 2007 before he was released. In 2008, Reeves returned to OVW with a new gimmick under the name Ryback , which was not a WWE Development League by then. There he won the OVW Heavyweight Championship once .

A short time later he was signed again by the WWE and made his debut in Florida Championship Wrestling in December 2008. From October 2009 Reeves appeared under the name Skip Sheffield in a cowboy gimmick.

Nexus and comeback as Ryback

In February 2010, he was confirmed as a participant in the first season of WWE NXT . After Montel Vontavious Porter was initially intended as "Pro" by him, this was replaced at short notice by William Regal . Reeves was the first to be eliminated in the season . On June 7, 2010 he made his debut along with the other participants of the first NXT season on RAW and intervened in the main event of the show. From then on he was a member of this new group, the Nexus . Two months later, he broke his ankle at an event and was out for almost 15 months due to an injury.

On April 3, 2012, he returned to WWE TV as Ryback on SmackDown . In the first few months he mainly won squash matches, which resulted in a winning streak and led small feuds, for example against Jinder Mahal. Reeves has been feuding WWE Champion CM Punk since October 2012 after his feuding opponent John Cena was injured. At the PPV Hell in a Cell on October 28th, Reeves' winning streak ended in the match of the same name against CM Punk. He then forms a tag team with Curtis Axel under the name Rybaxel.

Comeback 2014 - contract termination in 2016

After several months of injury, Reeves returned to the WWE shows as Face in the October 27, 2014 edition of RAW. As at the beginning of his Ryback gimmick, he was pushed again in a few squash matches. At the Survivor Series 2014 he fought in the 5 against 5 elimination tag team match in Team Cena, together with Dolph Ziggler , Big Show , Erick Rowan and John Cena , against Team Authority, which Team Cena won.

At the Pay-Per-View WWE No Escape on June 1, 2015, Reeves beat Dolph Ziggler, King Barret , R-Truth , Sheamus and Mark Henry in an Elimination Chamber Match for the Intercontinental Championship , and was thus in his career Intercontinental Champion. On September 20, 2015, he had to surrender the title at WWE Night of Champions to Kevin Owens .

On August 8, 2016, WWE announced the official split from Ryback. Three days earlier, he had already announced a termination of the contract via Twitter. The background to this was what he saw as the unfair payment of the actors, as the winners received more money despite the agreed outcome of the fight.
