It is the first of a series of prequels , which mainly shed light on the history of the protagonist Lina Inverse . In Germany the film was released dubbed on DVD with some bonuses . The JCStaff studio was responsible for the animation and was able to fall back on funds from the sponsors Bandai Visual , Kadokawa Shoten , Marubeni Corporation and King Records . Toei Animation took over the distribution .
action
After a strange dream, Lina, who is traveling alone, is ambushed by some bandits who, however, have no idea that she can and does destroy the magician with her little finger. Lina immediately invests the wad of money stolen from her short banter in a series of local delicacies, which she gobbles up at a small snack bar on the beach until the three bandits reappear. However, they bring reinforcements, whose way of laughing drives the magician through the marrow: Naga, who mimes the innocent and thinks she has to hunt down Lina.
However, when Lina informs her friend that she has been hired by bandits, the tide turns. Suddenly Naga got hold of two tickets for a boat trip to Mipross Island, whereupon she hurriedly grabbed Lina and hurried off with her.
On the trip to the island, Naga reads to her friend from a travel guide about the island's legendary hot springs , which are also surrounded by a mysterious and impenetrable mist that only clears a few days a year. In addition, there should be a place where you can take a look at the island's past. Lina falls asleep over it, who now has another strange dream in which she is welcomed to the island by a voice.
The next day the ship docks in Mipross. After the two have crushed some petty criminals and handed them over to the king and queen of the island, they are given a feast - the little incident with Naga's golem, which accidentally dismantled half the port city, does not matter. During the night, Lina meets the person responsible for her visions in her dream: An old man who calls himself rowdy asks her for her help to destroy a demon and bring his home, the island of Mipross, back to paradise to transform what it once was. As a reward, he would reveal the location of a special hot spring to her, which should help her still very girlish figure on the jumps. In return, she should take care of the demon Joyrock, who is responsible for the misery.
But the first encounter with her opponent doesn't go too well: Joyrock is incredibly strong, so that the two magicians don't stand a chance. At the last moment they are rescued by Rowdy, who then sends Lina back in time with a magical time machine , where she and Rowdy's younger self thwart the attack of some demons on a village of elves. Together they then also meet the culprit who is responsible for the attack. Joyrock has no chance against the combined power of Lina and Rowdy's lightsaber and is defeated. Immediately after the fight, the magic with which the magician was brought into the past ends.
However, all that remains is the thanks of the aging rowdy, whose information about the special hot spring turns out to be useless for Lina.
