action

Mike Kendall, a former police officer, lives alone in a Utah town in a beautiful house with a white picket fence that he laid down in his muscle car after a night of drinking. He's half-heartedly looking for work, but all he seems to be doing is drinking and fooling around with his brother-in-law, Teddy.

One morning Mike finds a badly beaten up girl on the shoulder of the road near a field where he slept off his intoxication after another night of partying. She is a mystery and soon his possible redemption, which lets him play lawman again because the young woman dies shortly afterwards in the hospital. With a cheap business card and an equally cheap jacket and tie, he knocks on doors and pretends to be a private snoop. Shortly thereafter, he chases after a familiar dark story of very young women (prostitutes) and very bad men, messing with the lithe pimp and alleged murderer.

His old high school friend Randy, who now owns a bar, seems to be involved in selling young girls to potential customers. Two more girls have since been murdered. Ivy, one of the young prostitutes, and third a girl clique, has disappeared. Kendall tracks her down and it turns out that she's been extorting several times with Randal, who is hiding her. The blackmailed fight back and put two professional killers on the blackmailers. The leading killer, known as "the orthopedist", kidnaps Teddy in order to free him from Ivy. It comes with the grandfather of the first victim and Kennall's client, Steve Wendel and Mood to a showdown at a freight yard. The killers are killed after a violent firefight, the three saviors and Teddy injured.

The public prosecutor recognizes self-defense and acquits the four. His former colleagues, Detectives Crawford and Whitman, can arrest two of the three clients, the third has fled to Mexico. They give Kendall the address of the last customer known to them because of the lengthy requests to be expected for extradition between the USA and Mexico. In the final scene you can see Mood and Wendel tracking him down on the beach.
