Emeralds Mbonyintege
Smaragde Mbonyintege (born February 2, 1947 in Rutobwe, Guitarama , Rwanda ) is Bishop of Kabgayi .
Life
Smaragde Mbonyintege was ordained a priest on July 20, 1970 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Kabgayi diocese . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him bishop of Kabgayi on January 21, 2006. The Archbishop of Cyangugu , Thaddée Ntihinyurwa , donated him episcopal ordination on March 26, 2006 ; Co- consecrators were Frédéric Rubwejanga , Bishop of Kibungo , and Philippe Rukamba , Bishop of Butare .
Emerald Mbonyintege is President of the Bishops' Conference of Rwanda.
