Social Suicide is a Norwegian post-hardcore band from Bergen , consisting of Marius Jahnsen ( vocals ), Bjarte Haugland ( guitar ), Esteban Munoz ( drums ) and Remi Arefjord ( bass ).

history

Social Suicide is signed to Redfield Records in Germany and released their debut album Broken Pilgrims there on April 15, 2011 . This album was featured in many Norwegian print media, including Aftenposten and Natt och Dag . The group previously released two EPs under the names Kansas City Shuffle (2008) and 5th Man on a Dead Mans Grave (2009) on their own.

After initially touring nationally, Social Suicide played overseas for the first time in 2010. This was at the Freakstock Festival in Borgentreich, North Rhine-Westphalia . At the festival, which was organized by the Jesus Freaks , Social Suicide played with Pantokrator , No Longer Music and Good Weather Forecast, among others . In April and May 2011, the group performed on the Through the Noise European Tour together with Comeback Kid , Kvelertak , Gravemaker and The Ghost Inside across Europe . During this tour there was also a show at the Groezrock Festival in Meerhout , Belgium . After the band returned, singer Sondre Haug left the band and was replaced a little later by Marius Jahnsen, who already accompanied the band as a merchandise seller. In October and November 2011 Social Suicide and the German band The Blackout Argument went on their farewell tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. These were accompanied by Till We Drop from Hungary. On May 11th, the new album A Genetic Hoax will be released on Redfield Records .
