Soesja Citroen (born September 25, 1948 in The Hague ) is a Dutch jazz singer and composer.

Citroen's father was a composer, his mother Agnes Jama (1911–1993) was a pianist and composer. Citroen, who had piano lessons from her mother, performed with pop and Dixieland bands as a teenager. She first studied psychology in Amsterdam and also worked for a few years in this profession in a cultural institution. In addition, she also took piano and singing lessons. In 1979 the composer and pianist Nedly Elstak brought her to his group Seven Singers and a Horn . In the same year she began to work as a jazz singer with her own sextet, in which Willem Breuker also played. In 1981 she made her debut at the North Sea Jazz Festival . She played u. a. with Cees Slinger , Nico Bunink , Michael Moore and (on two albums) with the Metropole Orkest . On many of her CDs she sings her own compositions (e.g. in “Song for Ma”) B. wrote own texts in "Soesja Citroen Sings Thelonious Monk". In addition to touring in Europe, she also performed in the USA (1993 Waldorf Astoria in New York) and Indonesia. For “Soesja Sings Citroen” she was nominated in 2002 for the Dutch Edison .

She has lived in Gouda since 1980 .
