Soldiers Grove is located in southwest Wisconsin on the Kickapoo River , a right tributary of the Wisconsin River which flows into the Mississippi . The Mississippi border with Iowa is 20 miles to the west. The intersection of the states of Minnesota , Iowa, and Wisconsin is 29 miles west-northwest; the border with Illinois runs 113 km south.
