occupation

Solsidan ( German  sunny side ) is a Swedish comedy - television series based on the Swedish commercial broadcaster on 29 January 2010 TV4 had its premiere. The series revolves around Alex Löfström and Anna Svensson, who are expecting their first child and who have just moved to Alex's parents' house in the Solsidan district in the Stockholm suburb of Saltsjöbaden . Alex tries both to entertain Anna and to deal with his old childhood friend Freddie. From 2010 to 2015, five seasons of the series were shot. The series also aired in Norway , Finland , Denmark and Belgium .

action

Alex is a 39 year old dentist who is moving to his parents' house in Saltsjöbaden with his girlfriend Anna. They are expecting their first child together. Anna works as an actress and feels strange in Alex's hometown. Alex's mother Margareta sold the house to Alex and Anna, but comes by whenever she wants. Fredrik Schiller is Alex's old friend who lives in the chicest house in town with his wife Michaela "Mickan" and two children. Ove Sundberg is also one of Alex's childhood friends and is considered the most boring and meanest person in Saltsjöbaden. He always manages in an unpleasant way to invite himself to his friends Freddie and Alex. He lives with his equally stingy and boring wife Anette.

production

Solsidan was written by Felix Herngren, Ulf Kvensler, Jacob Seth Fransson and Pontus Edgren and produced by Jarowskij and FLX owned by Herngren and Ylva Axél. According to Herngren, they have long talked about that "it would be fun to create a bolder drama comedy where the script and characters take a little more time to develop." Herngren described the series as a free continuation of his films vuxna människor and Varannan vecka . In June 2008, Mia Skäringer confirmed that she would play an important role in the series. In July of the same year, Herngren and Johan Rheborg confirmed themselves as actors on the series. Filming began in spring 2009.

The first episode of Solsidan , which aired on January 29, 2010, was viewed by 1.84 million people. It was the fourth most watched series in Sweden this week, after Antikrundan , På spåret and Mästarnas mästare . It was also the most watched series on TV4 and hit the dance show Let's Dance , which had 1.68 million viewers. The first episode of the second season aired on January 16, 2011 and reached more than 2.5 million viewers. The audience rating was - apart from two episodes of Let's Dance and some sports broadcasts - the highest on the channel in the 2000s.

characters

main characters

  • Alexander "Alex" Löfström ( Felix Herngren ) is a 39 year old dentist with his own clinic. He grew up in Saltsjöbaden outside Stockholm. In the first episode, he and his partner (later his wife) Anna Svensson move to "Saltis" after buying their parents' house from his mother Margaret Löfström. In the first season, he and Anna are expecting a child who will be born in the last section. Alex is conflict-averse and fearful and cares a lot about what others think of him. His neighbors are his best childhood friend Freddie Schiller and his wife Michaela.
  • Anna Svensson ( Mia Skäringer ) lives with Alex Löfström (they later marry) and works as an actress. In the first season she is on maternity leave, in the second season she starts working as a masseuse. Anna did not grow up - unlike her partner - in Saltsjöbaden and sometimes feels excluded and different from her friend Mickan. She tries to adapt, however, but is a little verbal and direct at times.
  • Frederick "Freddie" Schiller ( Johan Rheborg ) is 39 years old and works as a managing director and fund manager at a bank. He lives in one of the chicest houses in the very fashionable Solsidan district, where he also grew up. Freddie is married to Mikaela "Mickan" Schiller and they have two children together, Victor and Ebba. He's the best friend of Alex Löfström, a childhood friend who recently moved to Solsidan with his partner Anna. Freddie is very enthusiastic, but mostly acts without thinking. Status is important to him and he attaches great importance to money and care.
  • Mikaela "Mickan" Schiller ( Josephine Bornebusch ) is married to Fredrik Schiller, the richest man in Solsidan. She is on maternity leave with her 1 year old daughter Ebba, but also runs a children's clothing design company. Like Freddie, Mickan attaches great importance to her status in the district and wants to become the “ First Lady ” of “Saltis” - but then meets her friend Lussan as a competitor. In the second season, another childhood friend of Freddie returns home to "Saltis". It turns out he is with Lussan and even richer than Freddie.
  • Ove Sundberg ( Henrik Dorsin ) is an old schoolmate of Schiller and Löfström. Ove is notoriously stingy, socially incompetent and has no self-distance, which means that he never sees how he is perceived by his surroundings. Those around him see him as an undesirable bastard. He constantly wants to borrow equipment from his neighbors without returning them or borrowing anything himself. He previously managed to become chairman of the Saltsjöbadens Golf Club in an unclear way. He is married to Annette, who is equally unsympathetic.
