The scattered settlement of Sommerhau is located north of the state road 2178 from Hohenberg an der Eger to Selb in Northern Bavaria .

Sommerhau is part of the municipality of Hohenberg an der Eger. It is located between the Egertal and the Selber Forst forest area right on the border with the Czech Republic .
history
Around 1600 a house was probably built there for a charcoal burner who made charcoal for neighboring hammer mills . As early as 1674 , in an official description of the Hohenberg judges' office, “two Güthlein uf dem Sommerhau” and in 1687 a “Reuthgüthlein”, on which there was also a “ Zapfenschenk-Justice ”, were described.

The “druid bowls” on the Schüsselstein (570 m) have been designated as a protected natural monument by the nature conservation authority.
