Sonina is a village with a Schulzenamt in the municipality of Łańcut in the Powiat Łańcucki of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located in the Rzeszów foothills , on the right Wisłok tributary Sawa about 17 km east of Rzeszów .

Neighboring towns are the city of Łańcut in the northwest, Głuchów in the north, Kosina in the east, Markowa in the southeast and Wysoka in the south.

history

In the late 14th century, a closed German-language island (later called Walddeutsche , which became Polish- speaking until the 18th century ) around the town of Łańcut , made up of about ten villages, including the village of Schonerwalt . The name was mentioned once in a document in 1384 and the identification with the later village of Sanyna, Szanyna, today Sonina is quite likely. Except for the name, the presumed German settlement left no traces in the springs, as in the other neighboring villages. The village belonged to the parish in Łańcut, which accelerated the Polonization.

During the first partition of Poland in 1772 Sonina became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). After the abolition of patrimonial with serfdom , it formed a municipality in the district and judicial district of Łańcut from 1850 .

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the place became part of Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .

From 1975 to 1998 Sonina was part of the Rzeszów Voivodeship .
