Sonja Beißwenger

Sonja Beißwenger (born October 6, 1980 in Heilbronn ) is a German actress and radio broadcaster.

Life

During her school days, she gained her first stage experience at the Heilbronn Theater . She also played in various off-theater productions. After first studying ethnology, journalism and philosophy in Leipzig , she completed an acting training at the Hanover University of Music and Theater from 2001 to 2004 . From the 2004/05 season until 2008 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Hannover , where she appeared again as a guest in the 2015/2016 season. After the birth of twin daughters, she was on parental leave until summer 2009. From the 2009/2010 season to 2015 she was part of the ensemble of the Dresden State Theater . Since 2015 she has been working as a freelancer with engagements at the Salzburg Festival and at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . In addition, she teaches as a lecturer at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in the field of drama and is on the road in a variety of ways as a radio speaker.

In 2013 she was awarded the Erich Ponto Prize .

Her brother is the Germanist Michael Beißwenger .
