The total solar eclipse of September 23, 2090 takes place largely over North America , Greenland , West Africa , western Europe and the Arctic .
The maximum of the eclipse is about 200 km west of the southern tip of Greenland in the North Atlantic , the duration of the totality there is 3 minutes and 36 seconds.
The exact course of the totality zone can be given today (beginning of the 21st century) due to the imprecise forecast of the development of the earth's rotation (cf. Delta T ) with an accuracy of only a few dozen kilometers. Particularly in the area of the end of totality in France and Belgium, changes that are essential for some cities will still be possible.
course
The eclipse begins near the North Pole at sunrise and the moon's shadow moves rapidly in a southeast direction over Ellesmere Island in the Canadian state of Nunavut . The shadow of the moon crosses Baffin Bay and grazes Greenland . The totality zone then reaches Ireland , the south of England , towards evening , crosses the English Channel with the Channel Islands and reaches Belgium and France where the darkness ends at sunset.

Visibility in German-speaking countries
The darkness is visible as partial darkness in the entire German-speaking area until sunset. In the west, where the eclipse begins about an hour before sunset, the coverage is still up to 90%. In the east, where the darkness begins shortly before sunset, only very small.
